Sleek Solstice Highlight Palette
Sleek Solstice Highlight Palette
Hello loves!
I'm back with product review post, which are one of my favorite kinds of posts to write and read, ngl!
If you've seen my previous haul, you may have spotted this sleek (as the name would suggest) golden gem that hides four different illuminating shades below the mirror.
Out of all the items, one of the most exciting ones for me to try was this very palette so I'm dedicating today's post to it.

If you have Jaclyn Hill on Snapchat, you most likely remember her freaking out over the intensity over one of these highlight shades, and if Jaclyn Hill is shocked at a highlight and may have been temporarily blinded, you know this is not a game!
So let's talk about the Solstice palette by Sleek!

She was talking about the Subsolar shade, the lightest one in this quad. Tbh I think getting this palette is worth only for that shade itself. Well, at least for my foamboard-skintone self.
Right of the bat I can say the other three shades are gorgeous frosty eyeshadows.

The shade Eclipctic is the standout, formula-wise. It's the creamiest of them all (as you can see in the photo above, I left a mark after swatching). It has a stunning pinky undertone and will work well on medium-dark skin tones.

Subsolar is the famous one, the one you probably may want to put sunglasses for. It's less creamy than Ecliptic, but not straight up powder as the other two. Cream to powder consistency, I'd say for this one.
It's gorgeous, light frosty shade with the slightest champagne tint, perfect for us pasty folks!

Hemisphere is the least highlight-appropriate one, I doubt anyone would use this shade to accentuate their cheekbones and other high points, maybe for a scene makeup or, as I mentioned, an eyeshadow.
This one is lovely lavander pink shade and your standard powder finish.

Equinox is a medium-dark skintone's dream! This one makes me want to be tanner, it's stunning! Unlike Eclipctic, this is a powder form and with a bronze tint instead of pink. In the swatches photo below, just look at how perfect it looks highlighting my knuckles, catching the light in all the right places. To die for!

None of the shades accentuate dry patches or hair (you can see I have a little hair on the part where Equinox swatch is. It's obviously visible, but not terrible). Once I went to wash them off, they all come off very easily with soap except Ecliptic. Being the creamy formulated shade has something to do with it. I had to significantly rub it in order to get it off, and I still have a sheen on my hand as I'm typing this post.

Overall, the palette being $14.99 is absolutely worth it. I think there's a shade for everyone, and can be used for multiple things. The palette itself is gorgeously packaged, perfect to travel with (!) as it's small but sturdy, although not heavy in the slightest. The mirror is always a massive bonus, especially for being edge-to-edge and perfectly flat. Just don't mind the awkward brush it comes with, do yourself a favour and throw it away.
And I totally dig the cute solar names, as they suggest your highlight will be seen from the space. :)
